This is one of my favorite videos.. (A lot of people ask me what kind of music I mix… This is it to a T, I mix everything all at once to a crazy frenzy of funk, disco, rock, and oh yes prince!) God I love this video. I could watch it a million times. Check it out! If you aren’t inspired by this collection of scratching and mixing I give up. LOL.

I had heard T-Pain was using an NS7 and now we got a video to share with you from Numark on his take on the NS7… Without further ado T-Pain aaaayeaaa

Numark iDJLive a perfect starter DJ setup

When I first came across the Numark iDJLive I wasn’t quite sure what to think. It looks like a kids toy, plastic top, knobs a little less than desired, but then I finally talked myself into getting one for Christmas and I couldn’t believe how much fun this DJ controller makes mixing with your iPad an absolute dream. It also brings into perspective a recent trend… Technology has in many ways surpassed the DJ. Having spent some time with a friend who is still mixing on real vinyl and a deep discussion on proper bpm, pitch, timing, key etc., DJ technology today has made it so easy for the masses to join it isn’t about practice anymore its just about getting the right gear. That could be both a positive and a negative. The positives far out weigh any negatives however and I think the iDJlive proves it. My out of the box experience was excellent. Plug & Play is the words we so often look for and in this case I can attest my steps were 1. turn the iPad on, 2. plug the iDJLive in, 3. turn on the djay for ipad app and load up a song and it was working immediately. Nothing to map, setup, or toggle beyond that! The price is extremely affordable at $99 and assuming you already own an iPad and are ready to pony up for perhaps one of the more expensive apps on the iTunes market at $20 the Numark iDJLive is absolutely a must add on for the up and coming DJ or someone who wants to have a nice backup for when things could go wrong.

4 out of 5 stars. (for what it is, it should be a 5, but there is room for add ons, if it were perfect they would stop updating it right? I can’t wait to see future related products like this one) One important feature/note not covered specifically is that the unit is powered 100% by the iPad so make sure your iPad has plenty of juice.
